Metal Detectors 4 Veterans (MD4V), gives veterans suffering from PTSD and other related conditions the opportunity to focus on a hobby that encourages them to get outside, exercise, and enjoy the fellowship of other hobbyists. We accomplish this with new and donated metal detectors, equipment, and volunteer instructors. MD4V and its volunteers work to give suffering veterans - and their families, a new interest that will help to replace dark thoughts, anxiety, and depression.
Metal detecting can be a therapeutic hobby for people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as it allows them to engage in an activity that can be calming and meditative while being outdoors and exploring new environments. It can also provide a sense of accomplishment and purpose as valuable or historical items can be found. Research has shown that engaging in hobbies such as metal detecting can be beneficial for people with PTSD as it provides a way to distract from negative thoughts and feelings, reduce stress, and improve mood.
It is important to note that metal detecting alone should not be considered a substitute for professional treatment and therapy for PTSD.
Are you passionate about metal detecting? Let me know! I am always looking for instructors and new chapter founders, to help me make my vision a reality. I'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you, and I'm excited to have you join the team!
Whether you help through equipment donations, volunteering your time, or spreading my mission through word-of-mouth, thank you!! I can't accomplish my goals without the help of supporters like you.
WINNERS! WINNERS! WINNERS!

I need your help! As awareness of my mission grows so does my need for your donations. If you can donate please do so today. If you cannot afford a donation please pray for our active Service Men and Women, and the Veterans I serve. - THANK YOU! -- Terry Soloman
As 2024 winds down, I am very blessed to report that Metal Detectors 4 Veterans, Inc., was able to reach out and supply metal detectors and other detecting equipment to 156 deserving, financially insecure veterans suffering from the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. That averages out to three veterans every week I was able to bring some hope and comfort to because of compassionate people like you!
My mission has just begun. Metal Detecting Therapy is real, effective, and makes a difference every day in the lives of these brave veterans. Please help me spread the good word about MD4V.org to your friends and families, and God Bless ALL of Us, especially during this Holiday Season. – Terry Soloman, President, MD4V.org
It gives me great pleasure to pack up Minelab metal detectors to send out to veterans across the country. More veterans learned of my program (MD4V.org), through a recent news story about a veteran in Utah that I sent a detector to. He found a piece of history, and returned it to the family it belonged with https://www.ksl.com/article/50993629/utah-veteran-finds-a-piece-of-genuine-american-history
Awareness and publicity for MD4V.org is wonderful and helps get the word out to more veterans suffering from PTSD, however it also raises the need for donations. To date 97-cents of every dollar donated has gone to machines, equipment, and shipping for veterans. The other 3-cents is spent on packing supplies, website costs, and annual corporate filing costs. All administration is done by four unpaid Directors.
